David Simchock Photography | Fine Art Solutions / About My Prints

What are your fine art desires and needs?

From this website, I currently provide multiple affordable options for my collectors -- matted prints on fine art paper (in three standard sizes), as well as canvas gallery wraps and prints on metal. Soon, I will officially launch my line of customized "Big & Bold" frames, hand-crafted from raw lumber by me in my home woodworking shop.  Examples of these exquisite artworks can be seen at my shows and exhibitions.  If you would like to be informed as to when these new lines will become available on-line, please join my mailing list.

I believe that my fine art prints are an affordable investment for any homeowner looking to liven up their living and recreation spaces. My images can be as sophisticated as they are playful, providing options for any room in the house. For those interested in investing in my large-format framed work, I can produce customized sizes and styles to suit your specific needs.

Do you need multiple pieces of artwork for your office building, possibly fitting a theme? Not a problem.  With multiple printers in my home studio, and the capability to produce custom hand-crafted picture frames in my wood-working shop, along with local printing and framing support if needed, I can meet your needs in any quantity and specification desired. No commercial project is too big or too small. But, all will get the dedication that I put into every image that I create, and every piece of fine art that is produced from them. Be sure to check out my "Quotable" gallery, where you'll find specialty prints that are perfect for any office environment.

If you are an interior designer or interior decorator looking for colorful, unique imagery for your clients, please contact me with details about your projects. I'd be more than happy to collaborate with you in providing customized artwork for any environment. Though I specialize in fine art paper, canvas and aluminum prints, I am open to explore other printing mediums and non-traditional finishes. Please contact me to discuss how I can meet, or exceed, your clients' fine art needs.

Are you the director of a local or distant gallery, seeking high-quality, worldly art, that also comes with an interesting story? Though I am currently represented by three galleries in the WNC region, and have my work hanging (for sale) in a handful other other establishments, I am always seeking additional opportunities to display my work. If you believe that there is a fit between the art that I produce, and what your buyers or customers collect, then please contact me.

I should note here that I am particularly seeking out a contemporary gallery that would be interested in exhibiting some "themed" collections that I've been curating over the years. I am very excited about this work, but need to find the right gallery space match in order for it to have maximum impact.

All of my matted prints are created with a professional-quality Epson and Canon printers using archival inks and top-quality fine art paper (some prints, such as my music images, may be done on luster photo paper). Estimated life-span of the prints is over 100 years. All prints have a white border and are signed by me in the lower right-hand corner on the border. All prints are mounted on acid-free foam-core board, and matted using acid-free mats. Larger prints are clipped to the backing border with acid free mounting corners, and are easy to remount if desired. I also sign the mat near the lower right corner of the image. While some artist reduce their costs by compromising on print longevity and lower-end matting and mounting materials (i.e., containing acid that can leach into the artwork over time), I do not cut corners and promise to use only top quality printing, matting, mounting, and framing materials.

Though I employ the highest-quality materials available, I strongly recommend that the artwork is kept out of direct sunlight, and that UV-protective glass is used when framing the artwork. Most ready-made frames do not incorporate UV-protective glass, so it is always best to replace the stock glass with a higher-end piece of glass that can be purchased at most frame shops.

Like my fine art paper prints, my canvas prints are printed using archival inks (100+ years estimated life-span). The canvas prints are "stretched" on to 1.5" deep stretcher bars (similar to how an oil or acrylic painting canvas is stretched), coated with a protective UV lacquer (a stop some fine art photographers fail to employ), and are wired for hanging (smaller pieces use a saw-tooth hanger). Like my fine art paper prints, I sign each print in the lower right corner of the image. If you prefer a shallower wrap that is suitable for framing (e.g., 3/4" deep), please contact me and I will help you with a custom order.

In mid-2015, after trying out different print labs, I began offering my work as "prints on aluminum". This is a specialty printing process performed by high-end labs, providing a unique "ready to hang" medium that brings out the vibrant colors of my work. Though any of my prints can be ordered on metal, those in my Abstract and Music Galleries show particularly well in this format.

Many of my images are suitable for much larger formats than what is offered on this website. If you would like me to provide a quote for such a special order, please provide me with the details of your needs, including desired image and the size that you would like.  I have the ability to provide canvas gallery wraps printed in my studio up to 40 inches wide (e.g., 40" x 60"). Contact me for details and pricing.
